"And Allah took a handful of southerly wind, blew His breath over it, and created the horse.
He said to the magnificent creature, 'I have made thee as no other. All the treasures of the earth lie between thy eyes.
Thou shall carry my friends upon thy back. Thy saddle shall be the seat of prayers to me.
Thou shall fly without wings, and conquer without any sword. Oh, horse.'"

This digital painting is based on an image of a champion grey Arabian stallion competing at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, some years ago. He had 'taken the roses' in his class, a reference to the beautiful garland adorning his neck, awarded to him along with the title of Champion. The Scottsdale Arabian Horse show is one of the biggest breed shows in the world. It runs for ten days and nights in the month of February. Held in the beautiful city of Scottsdale, Arizona in the United States of America, the show attracts thousands of visitors from around the globe.
I spoke with a local (or three) who told me she was not into horses other than looking and admiring them for their beauty. She came to the show most years to meet folks from all over, enjoy the dazzling array of shopping and the food. It was her annual holiday. I met quite a few native Arizonians there for the same reasons as well as many more from around the country and the world who, like me, were there for the horses and the thrill of actually attending such a prestige event.
